Practical Session 2 Update – Spain

We appreciate how much the cancellation of our exams has affected learners and we’re working hard on solutions to ensure they can gain their qualifications at the earliest opportunity.

Provided travel and COVID restrictions are lifted, we will open a booking period from 2 September – 23 September with exams to be held October - December. We will continue to keep this under review as our ability to accept bookings remains conditional on the restrictions continuing to be lifted. An update to Applicants will be announced as soon as we can and our Representatives will provide further guidance in due course. We are looking forward to providing candidates with exams again and thank you for your loyalty and support at this difficult time.

Jazz Performance Assessment is an opportunity for musicians of any age or level to have their prepared work assessed by a musician with broad jazz experience, without the pressure normally associated with public performance or exams.

How it works

A free choice of repertoire â lasting no more than 15 minutes and broadly corresponding to the tunes included in ABRSMâs Jazz syllabus â should be offered, and performers will need to provide their own accompaniment where appropriate. Constructive comments on the performance are written by the examiner on the certificate that each candidate receives at the end of the assessment.
